I still have 6, 7, 8 and 9 on my comp, but why would you use an earlier version (except for teaching)?
I'm very curious about this
The only time I open an earlier version is for training purposes.
I have heard urban myths that earlier version do certain things better, but if you set the prefs correctly CS2 can do anything better than earlier versions

I have 7 and 8. No special reason except for old urban myths. If I did a manip in 7 I like to have 7 around incase I need to replace or reuse. I don;t have any color issues or spacial file discrepencies. It is what is is and was. Got to take the boots off now and get back to work

In the early days i had everything on my computer as illegal!! Also versions of Photoshop...
But i always had strange things about the program, sometimes it wasn't running anymore, restarting the computer helped all the time.
But now i'm starting to make my own websites and stuff (about 2 years now) i wanted to have legal programs.
So in January 2005 i bought a new computer and i wanted every program on there as legal! And i still got that. I use a lot of freeware and some programs i bought.
I have to tell you guys that i sleep better (no really!! yes i do) knowing that it is alright to use these programs....
Just wanted you to know (and if you're interested here is a link) http://home.planet.nl/~herman68/negative/programmas.htm

I haven't heard of the myths...
Becaues of HD space, I only have CS2 installed, but I still have versions:
5
5.5
6
7
CS
So far I haven't found anything (that I do) to be better with an earlier version.
