Replacing scrollbars with custom made images?

Hello everybody...

I was wondering if someone could tell me how to replace scrollbars in a homepage with custom made images. I know how to change the color settings of scrollbars, but that's not what i want... Would be great if someone could help me or come up with a tutorial or something.

i was just reading about it and while people had some suggestions, none of it seemed worth the effort. you can do a google search on it.

none of those scroll bar effects work in firefox, which is fine by me, since they pretty much slow stuff down.
