it's a good start!
shows you can handle html, and you understand enough to do more complex stuff.
i can email you about what to put on a page and some ideas in a few days if you like.
(someone else will probably beat me to it though.)

dude, made you want to fix the position of the background, so it doesn't repeat itself...
it's only a thought...

one way to make a site is to first think of everything you want on your site and then create the layout... and when the layout is complete you can start to polish the site with information, heavy graphics and so on...

me, I'm not very good at photoshop so I concentrate on creating a distinct feel on my sites... with the language used, fonts and so on...
