    I need some help

    I need to find a printer…
I have someone interested in buying a print of my mule deer picture (no, not just my wife, someone else).
Does anyone know of a print company that will do short runs or better yet, print one at a time?

I need large format printing (up to 24” x 36”), and if they print on canvas, that would be a plus.

All the company’s I’ve contacted so far have minimum runs of 250 – 500. Right now I just need two.

    Thanks all

Look for a group that has the capabilities to do a "Giclee" print or an "Iris" prints. These are "print on demand" prints. Most of these people or running 80 year inks and printing on acid free water color paper or canvas. Stuff is pricey... you pay by the square inch. You will need a 300 dpi to size of the image you are wanting to print. Google "Giclee".

I don't know if you live near a Kinko's, Staples, Office Max, etc. But I believe that all do that. Actually, with Kinko's, I think you can send them the file and for a fee they can print it and ship it to you.

Or, if you live near a university with a graphics program you can probably talk to the head of the department and they might print stuff for you. We have a graphics lab that can print 4 feet wide and however long. And the painting/printmaking department has Lamda (sp?) printers and various other printers that can print on canvas and other material.

That's what I can think of off the top of my head. Good luck.

    Giclee - that's the name I couldn't remember, thanks

I've had stuff printed at Kinko's. The price isn't bad. About $60 for a 24" x 36". The quality just isn't as high as I need.

Colleges & Art Schools - I didn't think of that. Something to check out.

    Thanks guys...

You may want to check out some of the photo labs.

The higher end ones may have large format printers and will do custom.

Sign companies will also do one-offs.

Both are a little pricey but for a one-off it's not bad.

Their used to be a shop that operated like DA prints but with a better contract, but I don't recall the link, I'll see if I can locate it.

Yeah Doug I have. I want to do some coffee cups and such in the future and I'll probably use them for that, but their print size(s) are too small. The largest is 14 x 10 image size. I need a range from 8 x 10 to 24 x 36, or maybe even larger

Photo labs and service bureaus are your best bet for high qulity low run
The other option is to invest in a Epson 1800, 2200 or 2400, They are not that expensive and the quality is excellent, with the Epson archival quality paper you can produce giclee prints
