This is for a contest over at the worth, any C&C would be greatly appreciated. Pictures not due until tomorrow night so please comment by then

Only thing that comes to my mind is the chicken looks to real and not painted, im not sure the tool or technique to fix that though

im a complete noob, but you might want to work with some texture filters, to try and make the whole picture look like its on a canvas. perhaps discolor some sections and make it look older, you could get tips from people here on how to do that. I love the pic, I think its hysterical.

Looks good. The part that stands out the most to me is the shadow under the waddle(or whatever you call that hanging red thing) is a bit harsh. Maybe try to blur it a bit to soften it some. Also if you have the chicken parts on a different layer you might try duplicating it and setting the mode to Multiply and then dropping the opacity down until you're happy with it to match the tones of the clothes. I did a rough one and used 40% and it seemed to match pretty well. Good luck in the contest!

I TOTALLY think the first background was more of a match to the pic. I think it is a pretty cool graphic. "The emporistic rooster is in me"....Sounds like an Alice In Chain song! ( 0 )===::: Leaforte

The chicken looks too real in comparison to the rest of the painting.....

    I like the idea

I agree with leaforte. The first background fits better. Maybe Gaussian blur the background a little. Cfire thought on the waddle shadow is good. I think there needs to be a lttle more shadow as well.
