    Changing Colour

    I have a picture of my nephew.He is wearing a pair of pale Yellow shorts.When i try to change the colour of these to dark blue all i get is pale blue shorts.How do i get them to dark blue.Using CS2.Thanks Cumbrian

    IMAGE>ADJUSTMENTS>REPLACE COLOR>

    Use the eyedropper tool to choose the color on the shorts and then use hue
    saturation
    lightness
    to change variety of colors.

    Thanks pcproff tried that can,t get the colour anywhere near dark blue.I have tried painting on the shorts in colour mode but that only makes it pale blue.Thanks Cumbrian

    You need to darken the luminocity. See if the pants are dark in one of the original channels (eg. blue). If so, copy the channel and paste into a new layer and set the layer to luminocity. If it's too dark, step back the opacity until it's got the information you need.

    If the blue sucks (which it often does, stupid blue) you'll want to use a curves adjustment layer and do the same thing (set to luminocity and pull the mids waaaay down).

    Phil still can not get this colour right.When it comes to channels i am a bit of a novice.So i am not sure if i an doing right.Cumbrian
