first sig

well I installed photoshop last night and have been messing around with it and this is the first thing i came up with after reading around.... tell me what you think

remember the first time i seen photoshop was about 5 hours ago

Ok I can see it now...

The lightning is nice, but the text is a bit hard to read.

Also make sure you final sig is within the size restrictions of the forum rules.

very good for a first effort! I agree with mkeefe the text is difficult to read but i'm not gunna let that ruin your praise considering you only saw ps 5 hours before doing that.

Nice work for a first sig. Two things you can do really quickly to make the font more readable.

1 - Lower the opacity on the scan lines. This is found at the top of the layers pallette.

2 - Move the text layer above the scanline layer to move the text out of the effect.

See if you like the way those turn out, but great work!

another thing you could do with the scan lines to blend them in a little, you could take the eraser, then select a feathered brush, and put the eraser opacity on about 80% then go through and erase a few sections here and there, to make the scan lines blend in and out.

great first attempt though, keep it up.
