I applied to BU, didn't get in. If you're looking for public schools that have awesome art programs check out VCU(Virginia Commonwealth University) It's where I'm going right now for art. According to Newsweek, they are the number public art school and their graphics program is like #4 in the nation. The only bad part is you have to go through their art foundation program your freshmen year then apply to the graphics program. AFO(art foundation) isn't bad, it's just a ton of work, but they are trying to weed out those who think art is what they want to do and those who know it's what they want to do. Definitely check out the school though, it's pretty cool.
And to answer your other question, it's good to pickup a BFA or MFA in graphic design. It'll help when you apply for jobs and what not.

sorry im colege-dumb. is a Masters better than a Bachelor's? (assuming that BFA is bachelor's in fine arts, and MFA is masters in fine arts...)

bachelors is 4 years as well as masters. I have a BFA in Graphic Design from Tyler School of Art.

you would receive your bachelors before your masters.
