Lines
This probably sounds like a really dumb question. But ive looked the the Adobe help files and It isn't answering my problem. My problem is simple , I try to use the line tool , and it draw a shape , looks like some funky arrow , i checked everything i could think of , and none of the other tools in that section are messed up (elipse, rectangle , etc). The line is the only one that doesn't want to work.

EDIT

I noticed the only tool i have for line tool is 0.5cm black arrow... I have no idea why i dont have just a regular line , or if im not doing something right. But, where can I go to get the file i need so I can draw regular lines with the line tool.
Sorry if im wasting your time with these questions.

Hey, you're not wasting anyone's time!
Once you have the line tool selected (default shortcut is "U" ), up in the Options Bar, click on the down arrow for Geommetry Options (just to the right of the wobbly flower which is the custom shapes tool) & you'll see it says Arrowheads...make sure Start & End are unticked.
You can change the weight of the line & whether you want it to draw as a shape, path or pixels from the options bar too.

Thanks!! I can't believe I overlooked that lol. Now want to hear something funny? While I was waiting on a reply to my question here I needed to get a logo done , so I repeatedly jumped back and forth with photoshop and imageready and made my lines in image ready, boy what a pain. It will be so much easier now
)) Thanks again.

Line Tool Tutorial
I agree with Digi Pixie - you're not wasting anyone's time; especially since most of us had trouble with this when we started Photoshop.
Anyways, here's a great tutorial I found on the line tool.
