    A visitor in my woods....................

Or am I a visitor in his woods? No matter I thought you might enjoy the shot that I took out my front door of a Black Bear. It is a young cub that stands about 3 feet high on the back and weights about 230 lbs. We have some in the area that run over 500 lbs. Pardon the photography I had about 3 seconds to get set up and take the shot as he was moving through pretty fast.

Not sure if it is a sow or not. I know it is young though because I could measure its back to something that it was standing next to when I took the shot. When I went out there it was about 3 feet high which means it is pretty young. Probably a year old. Last years cub. Thanks for the comment.

The first pic has a lot of stuff in the foreground which detracts from the photo and the bear is looking away from the camera, whilst the second is a bit dark... You should definately have stood more in the open, shouted 'yoohoo', fired a hu-ge f*flash in his face and then asked your relatives to upload the picture cos its really difficult without any arms!

Its pretty convincing bear suit tho' - I thought it was real for a mo' - lol

I'm surprised you had time to measure him and get two shots in - in just three seconds.

    Sorry, silly mood.

Thanks for the comments: I have had a few people say "Nice Photoshop moment dude" but he is real.

Sooner that was taken out my front door. I had another shot that I looked at after the comotion that had a good reference point for me to measure to.

Zsue this is no lie. I was siding my office and only had insullation on the outside over the studs and I was using a beeswax in my waxer (back in the cut and paste days) and it ripped the insulation out trying to get to it but it couldn't get through the studs.

I have lots of bear stories but they are more afraid of you.......... they always take off as long as you don't run into one with her cubs..........then it can get ugly.

I think you were to close, just goes to show how temporarily insane we become to get the perfect shot.
