Camera Raw Problems with a Canon EOD 1D

    Hello all.

I am having a little problem processing my RAW files through Camera RAW. I am working on a Windows system running Photoshop CS

The problem is that when I open a RAW file into Camera Raw it is about 3 shades lighter than the thumbnail that is built into the RAW image. Then to add to the problem, when it is processed into Photoshop, it becomes even another shade lighter.

I am leaving all the settings “As Shot”

Below is a collage of snapshots throughout the process.

Just to prove to myself that it is not something in my raw files ... I downloaded a demo of BreezeBrowser (a raw processing tool). I left everything "As Shot" again. and look at the results below.

I know that this cannot be normal for Camera Raw. Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong?

The first thing I'd check is the color settings of Photoshop. Make sure, as well that all the sliders are at the neutral position in ACR, I.E. that you are not applying any changes in there...

Also, are you running the latest version of ACR? (2.2)

You may want to change your color settings.

    Start>Control Panel>Adobe Gamma

Caution! sometimes this help and other times it completely messes up your monitor. Make sure you don't save the settings over any other ones. Pics an unique name so you can revert back to your old settings.
