Text Screwing up the rest of page
I am following the super tutorial, I deleted the image in the area that I want my text to go. I have reinserted that image as the background. I then set the horz to left and the vert to top. I change my format to paragraph, font size and color. After that I start typing but when I hit the return key advance to the next line the tables on the right of my page(my Nav Bars) advance downward leaving big white gaps in the page. If I copy and paste text then all hell breaks loose and my page breaks up. Any ideals as how to fix this. Thanks in advance for the help.
Dreamweaver can make your table look whacked out as you're working. Happens to me all the time. I've never figured out why, but if I click outside of the table area, everything pops right back into alignment. Could this be happening in your case?
Can you post a link to the code?
fantasm... that 'whacked out ' thing as you describ it!... it happens to me all the time and its bloody irritating is'nt it?
i thought it was one of those things that only happen to me! so i'd just keep quiet and get on with it.
as far as i can tell its when i'm working on one half of a table where the cell borders do not follow accross the page.... then the content in that half will shoot all the way to the bottom...
ditto as fantasm said ... if some-wise-body knows the answer to this please tell:-)...
Rob.. sorry to hijack your thread but i think it may be the same issue...
all i can say is try making your cells equal accross the page and the content in them tends to hold it all in shape a bit better... ie as opposed to having 'loose' empty cells.
i have the same problem, y i am here, im also working on the super tutorial 2
he said that the reason the images would come apart might be caused by too much text, but i only have one sentence, so if i press enter to put in more text, it pulls the images to the left down, as if i told them to "enter" too
hmm... help apreciated

Some one told me to ignor the screwed up boxes and that when I preview the page in my browser the page would not look "screwed" up. So I did and they were half right. The page was normal except for one slice which disapeared all together. The only work around I could come up with was to draw a seperate layer and apply the text to that layer. I'm sure their is a better solution but I have not come up with one. If I knew "code better I'm sure I could fix the problem. This seams to be a common problem with several people, is their anyone out their who knows a fix????

i think i\'m having a similar problem
i think i'm having a similar problem. i've been taking the super tutorial as well, but with a site i'm trying to design. i'm able to create the new layer for the body of the page in dreamweaver. however, when i try to type in text, it goes wya down to the bottom of the page.
in frontpage, which i currently work in, you just hit the enter key to get the text to move to the top of the page. however, in dreamweaver, this just messes the whole page up!
please let me know if you have any ideas on how to fix this!
