How to create a cloth with wrinkles ?
These days, I have been trying to create a cloth with wrinkles that I can use as a banner to advertise a product.
Anyone know how to make it ? Of course, I know liquify function in Photoshop can do wonders, but I just can't come up with that

displacement maps works fine, too in many cases

Well, I used both in fact, maybe I lack some skills to really come up with that. I wonder if anyone knows where I can find the tutorials for it ? I mean making a cloth fresh from the beginning, not simply use a displacement map anyway.

You could try adapting this tut here... http://retouchpro.com/tutorials/index.php?m=show&id=66
It's for curtains, but using the same principles, you could use liquify, the wave filter or the airbrush to create fabric folds. I've used it to do fabric effects myself, such as here... http://www.dreamweavercafe.com/cafe/....php?tid=16755 by also using a texture I made & a distortion map.
Have fun!
