reflecting perspectives (II)
hi, thanks for your replies, but i think i didn't explain well.
i'm not talking about how to just distort an image or how to reflect plain objects (like that text on tutorial)
i.e: think about a large truck, and you are looking at the image on your screen from its right-top view (guess you can see the front, the roof and one side)....so, reflect it
actually, i do know how to do it (basically dulicate, invert, and then distort both sides separately, erasing the roof...) but i just want to know if there's any other way to get to it.
thanks guys.

I was playing with this a while ago, and I thinking the real meat of the matter is if you know you want to have reflection on something, then construct it thinking of the bottom of your object as the actual middle of the object. Run your distortions on the object and its reflection at the same time... it will give you a wonderful perspective effect. Just be sure to mark the centerpoint before you distort if you think it can get lost after distortion. After the double-object is created, maybe play with the Hue&Satch of the reflection, and possibly add some distorion and/or erase bits that are not reflected if you want.

hi phil, happy new year.
i've read your reply, but i´m afraid i don't really understand what you mean...would you mind to explain it again, please? plus, would you show me any example?
thanks

I think I know what you're talking about. I was trying to figure out how to do this a couple of weeks ago.
Lets say you have a square with your image on it and you change the perspective by pulling the 2 right hand corners together a bit and that's the image you want to reflect.....hang on before I go into detail explaining this (because I know it'll be a pain) can you please confirm that this is the kind of thing you're wanting to reflect. Thanks.

Can't you just make a copy of just the car and then ctrl+T to bring up the transform and drag the upper middle handle down past the bottom handle to get what you want and then just rotate, distort or whatever to get the effect you want. That's all I can add, I think Phil gave you real good tips.
Maybe add a mask with a gradient from black to transparent will help.
