First Flash site
Hi guys!
About 2 weeks ago I posted my first photoshop + dreamweaver site. The link to that post is here:
http://www.dreamweavercafe.com/cafe/....php?tid=16364
I wasn't ultimately satisfied with it so I thought i'd try my hands with Flash. I had a crash course for myself and this is what I came up with:

I'd very much appreciate any feedback and suggestions to make it better. Thanks everyone for your time!

That is a very good flash movie. couple of suggestions, First you should add a mask over the boxes where the information slides in, right now the text slides across the whol movie and that looks wrong. Other than that I like it and keep up the great work. Oh one more thing the music should default to off, and then give the users an option to turn it "on", some people dislike music playing on peoples sites unless they turn it on mostly because some people are at work, and others might already be listening to something.

Hi mkeefe!
Thanks for the reply and suggestion.
About the text flying in, I couldn't agree with you more. I had a dateline and didn't have enough time to make the necessary changes.
I was thinking of having the text to fade in slowly rather than sliding over the text boxes.
Point taken on the background music. I'll think about what you said for the time being.
As always, your suggestions are all for the better. Very, very much appreciated

Excellent work. May I add my 2 cents worth with regard to the information text question?
I would make the area an empty movie clip placeholder. Then, make each piece of information...Events, Committee etc as separate .swfs. Actionscript the buttons for each section with an onLoad() command and load the relative swfs dynamically.
This way, you not only make the main swf file smaller, but you can edit the other swfs independently without opening and editing the main .swf.
Hope this is of help.
Cheers,
Mark

Thanks for all the feedback guys! Much appreciated!
In response to TaipanMX's reply, yes, I did exactly what you mentioned. The bulk of the download size was for the bg music which I may take off and the background picture of the Opera house and Harbour Bridge.
Each piece of information has its own swf file loaded on the same layer to bump the current one out. If you have a slow connection then you might notice the preloader for each different section. Most of the swf's are less than 4KB's except for the committee one because of the pictures
Thanks all!
