Snow Hiking
Well, tomorrow I'm off to Colorado to do a little snow hiking in the mountains.
There are about 12 people in my group. Basically, we'll strap on some snowshoes and hike several miles into the mountains to a cabin in the backcountry. We'll hang out there for a couple days before hiking back out. I think our fearless leader has a few mountain climbs scheduled for us while we're there.
The weather forecast for the weekend is cold (25°f highs), windy and steady snowfall. Should be pretty fun, ha ha.
The cabin sounds nice though. It has a sauna, grill, running water, showers, and great mountain views. No cable tv though....dang, ha ha.
Should be a great trip.

Let me be the first to welcome you to Colorado! Actually 25 degrees is pretty warm this time of the year in the high country
Have a great time, just watch out for kitty cats (mountian lions).

PNeal,
Thanks. Living in flatland Oklahoma, I try to make it to Colorado as much as possible, for hiking, mtn biking, and a little skiing.
My last trip there was last October for the OU-Colorado football game. I took the dogs with me, and headed up a few days early. We had a great time hitting the trails around Boulder.
This will be my first snow hike trip. Yeah, 25° won't be too bad, but I've heard there may be 25-35 mph winds...I'm not thrilled about that. We get plenty of wind in Oklahoma.
Our trailhead is at Vail Pass.
