    World\'s Greatest Love Songs

In anticipation of Valentine's Day, I thought we could compile a list of our favourite love songs. Yeah I know it's sappy...but who doesn't love a good love song?

This possibly should be in the music section, but then nobody would look at it.

    My choices are...

Beatles - All You Need is Love (can't beat the classics)

Beach Boys - God Only Knows (bit of a psychedelic theme emerging)

The La's - There She Goes (this one's a bit dodgy as it's a song about drugs rather than a girl, like Golden Brown by The Stranglers, but it's great nevertheless)

    Wow Digi,
Anyone who picks a Beatles song as one of their “favorites” in any category ranks pretty high in my book.

Here are a few more great Beatles-related love songs:
    “And I Love Her”
    “When I’m 64”
    “Real Love”
“Grow Old Along With Me” (John Lennon solo)

OK, here are some non-Beatles songs that come to mind. Of course, this list changes all the time. You can probably tell I’ve been listening to oldies lately.
    “My Girl” – Temptations
    “Unchained Melody” – Righteous Brothers
“It Takes Two” – Marvin Gaye and Kim Weston
"Let It Be Me" - Everly Brothers
“Your Song” – Elton John (how wonderful life is, while you’re in the world)
“The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” – Roberta Flack
“I’ll Be There” – Jackson 5 (kind of bubblegummish, but a great slow dance song when I was in Jr. High)
    “If” - Bread
    “Crazy For You” – Madonna
    “Fields of Gold” – Sting
“Kiss Me” – Sixpence Non the Richer
“Love Will Keep Us Alive” – Eagles

    OK, I’ll stop for now.

Well, I traditionally hate love songs and all things cheese, but interestingly, one of my top 10 favourite songs in the world is a love song. It's surprisingly *not* cheese. It's
In your eyes by Peter Gabriel

the following Jazz standards, some written by Gershwin, Cole Porter, Hoagie Carmichael...others by I dont even know and dont feel like looking it up:

"Our Love is Here to Stay"
    "Everything I have is yours"
    "You are too beautiful"
    "My one and only love"
    "You go to my head"
    "Night and Day"
    "The Nearness of You"

Nothing says romance like "the old stuff"

    Wouldn't you agree, Davey?
