Hi.. i'm designing a website and want to use flash to create an animated intro screen. I played with Imageready and made the animation I want, but it's pretty long and is obviously far too big (nearly 1mb).
I'm using Flash MX and have the basics sorted, but I need to know how to change the transparency of an image (I want to tween an animation to have the image fading out). FMX help says to: 'Select the instance, and in the properties bar change the value for Alpha in the color pop-up menu..'
Err, what menu? only things in properties are dimensions and 'swap' and 'edit' buttons. Where's it gone? any help would be appreciated, thanks

Turn the object you are working with into either a graphic or a movie clip ( a movie clip is probably preferable) by selecting it and pressing F8.

You will then have access to the 'color' option group where you can change the clips alpha.
