Need Bullet Effect [Archive]

I really need a tutorial that tells how to make realistic bullets, and also how to make the "flying bullet" effect, seen in "The Matrix"

i had the same need about 2 weeks ago for my idea in the cafe contest i spent like 6 hours a day for 1 1/2 weeks making the effect i got for it and i am far from happy with what it looks like but i ran out of time ...... (i dont know how to use photoshop properly yet) phil gave me a tutorial in the newbies section i tried it but as good as it looked i thought i could make it look more 3d than that ... i should have just gone with it .... as far as the bullet goes i tried and tried to make a realitic bullet but i couldnt get the right angle in photoshop nothing this side of making a 3d bullet worked so i didnt end up with it in my contest entry although i really wanted it but if you look at my contest entry and wanna know what i did do so you can improve on it then let me know

dont get me wrong phil yours was perfect i just changed my concept a little so i had to make something else up i didnt want to bug you again to tell me how to do it the way i wanted it the second time.

Here's something I just did to see if I could make a decent looking bullet. How's it look. I did a view of the end also just for fun, I didn't have a bullet at hand to model.

I just read all the replies and realized what you wanted wasn't what I posted ooops!! I do like phils effect though I'll have to give that one a go.
