Hi guys It has been awhile since I have been here. this is my latest 3d project. its a ocean.

Did you do the whole thing as a mesh? or just the major features and a bump map and texturing for the finer ripples on the main swells?
Great job. I've been out on the ocean salmon fishing in swells that looked exactly like those.:o

Thanks for the coments. And I started with a flat pice of paper geometry and used endo morphs to create the waves and ripples and then I made custom settings for the water with the ripples effects. I used Light wave and the whole thing took me about an hour to build. its an entire animation with moving waves. I am creating it into lava right now.

Also I was wondering How would you guys like to see some more 3d pepole on this fourm. Rate it 1 to 10 thanks guys. just put the rate at the bottm of your message.

It could be other...slap a blue layer with the color filter over it, over that its an ocean...do one with orange and you got sand...hey I say we all download it now and play with it!

I would be great to see your movie when you get it done.
As far as seeing more 3D people on this site, I think that would be great too as PS has much of offer 3D, especially as far as building texture maps. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being best I'd say an 8 for getting more 3D people here.
As far as rating the PS Cafe for a website in general and PS in particular I'd give it a solid 10. Colin is the best and does all of us a great service by maintaining this wonderful place. :D:notworthy

So some of you want the scene file to play around with. okay Ill see iff I can give it to you. and I will ask a couple of pepole to visit this board to et more intrest in 3d and ps. And I will have my site up soon with ps and 3d files that you all can have.

Interesting. I just was the new posts in this thread and DL'd the model. I'll play with it this evening. The new render is nice, but I liked the old pic better. I think that because it was in grayscale it looked more like a brooding ocean. Should be fun to play with, I'll post some pics when I get them done. Thanks -:notworthy

it's a bit too smooth but looks cool.

i windsurf and have spent many years looking at waves. they almost always have white foam when they are that size even if the wind has died off.
