....not to leave. I'm here since such a long time and saw many ppl go and others arrive.
This words are related to a shi**y thread with much useless hassel.
I'll keep on sharing my photographs and admit useful and objective crits.
My latest's up at devart and as it loads pretty quick since their update I put the link here

:) Thanks guys.
It's all about a thread in the general talk forum. We were a few to have some problems with a new member.
I don't know for you, but when someone treats my work as sh*t, even in a joke, sorta makes me feel sad.
It's not that I'm especially proud of what I'm doing but believe me, I put all, absolutly all I got inside in it.
I think it's the same for all of us, at least of those who share their work, because we know how to creat it and certainly appreciate honest opinions.
I think the guy should take our way of seeing and commenting stuff here. He only would feel much better the day he decides to bring up his work here.
I certainly WONT bring it down.
Now let's get over this and avatar you can check out all my work (manips, photographs, prints) by clicking on one of the links in my sig.
I would be happy to read you in my guestbook ;)

So glad you're staying, Rain. You're a valuable member of this community. It would be a real loss for all of us if you left because of thoughtless posts from someone who's been a member for less than a week.

Hi mate, glad you decided to stay, you had me worried.
I was going to join in on that thread but after I reread my post I deleated it because my anger got the best of me.
I don't care what people say, think, or feel about me but I do get angry when they attack someone I think of as a friend.
I decided to just ignore him in the future, maybe he'll fade away as fast as he came in.
This is still a good forum, we can't let the ignorant children change that.
BUT if you go you had better tell me where you're going to be. :lol
Hang in there,
Sam

Thanks for the support fantasm and Sam. I don't know any better place:)
Sam, I'm just like you. I actually jumped in this thread to defend others.
Well, let's forget it. It really isn't worth it.
See you around :)

It can be hard to bite your tongue at times... I have gotten involved in situations here, as well as other forums in the past and I had usually wished I hadn't. Now I try to say it once and say it nicely when I feel that someone is out of line.

Glad to hear your not going Rainer. I saw the thread you referred to & the comments that had been made in relation to your stuff & was quite angry about it.
Having just found the forum & not had much opertunity to show what I can do as yet I've been greatly encouraged by not only your c&c but also by looking a your work and gaining inspiration. I must say that it is some of the most professional I've seen in a long time, and although only a budding amateur myself I have done some work in the past with a variety of professionals in different spheres.
Unfortunatley you always get a few rotten apples in any society who just want to be antagonsitic & over the web, where they can hide behind an alias it seems even more prevalent.
Keep up the good work & I'm looking forward to getting your feedback on the pics I took at the weekend just as soon as I get them uploaded.

Such amazing shots are very seldom and as a fan of your photographic art I'm happy to hear you stay.
I love this one mate.

PS: People that treat posts as Sh*** don't deserve to be here (my opinion)

great man, just to think you would be gone... brrrr
4 what it is worth: I think you are the best ! Love to see your work.
Funny how one little negative thingy could make more impact than all the positive feedback you got. O well... c'est la vie.
Now stop chatting and start shooting :lol
cheers

Glad to know you are able to hang in there. Just wanted to let you know that things are not going unnoticed. The mods are hard at work behind the scenes to keep things pleasant and productive on the forum. People often get guidance and reminders about following forum rules.
In the future please don't hesitate to drop an email or U2U to myself or any of the other mods if you have concerns.

sweet pic, is that two pics? or just one
anyways, looks awesome

Evan, it is just a photograph. In fact it is a RGB file, added a chanel mixer layer set to monochrome pulled the green chanel to +200, the blue to -200 and the red to +84.
That gives it a infrared style. For the color I copied the original photo, put it on top and in a light blending mode played with the curves.
I'd call this the digital darkroom ;)

Rainer my friend, even though I am busier than I'd like and haven't had the time to be here as much as I once was, I'm glad you're here and doubly so as I'm starting to take some pics again after many years away from it. I look forward to helpful hints, tips, and as always honest C&C when I post some. (and that goes for you too Greg :lol).

With quality photos that you tend to take Rainer, it would a be a massive loss to both the forum as well as ourselves if you left us 'cos of a posting of a thoughtless member.... :D

Hmmmmmmmm... Cappy always seems to come in on the late side. I don't think I need to express how I would feel if you left Rain. It would be a big hole in the Cafe for sure. You have been here so long. Your work is an inspiration to many, including myself. Don't let anyone bother you, they are only jealous and probably dis-like themselves.
Cappy says to keep up the awesome work and ya better never leave without making obvious tracks, ya here?

Thanks again for your support. That really makes me happy.
Cappy, you didn't miss much. Just some words with a guy and I was more angry after myself then after him.
The years tought me to think twice before talking. If I had (tought twice) I'd wouldn't even have jump into this thread.
So, now let's get back talking about things we like to do and share.
In two weeks starts here the first international festival of sea photography. That will be totally awesome and I hope to talk to some photographers:)
I'll check out if there's a website and send the link here
Later folks:)
