Hi folks

I've just found this board, very impressed with everyones work so thought I'd better show something in return.

I prefer to work in black & white, then tone & hand colour but don't have a darkroom setup yet where I'm living. Moving into the digital age & trying to do with photoshop what I can do on paper so inital efforts are a wee bit patchy. I havn't got that much stuff scanned in yet but these 2 are hopefully ok. They are by no means the best just some I had to hand. Hope you like them.

I'd be grateful of any comments, and if someone could point me in the right direction to recreate sepia toning in PS I'd be eternally grateful. My attempts so far - messing around with Hue/Saturation adjustments leave a lot to be desired!!

:) nice photo, a lil grainy though. The sepia tone is pretty easy to creat in PS. You can use the curve by selecting the red chanel and afterwards the RGB but you were on the right way with the hue/sat. aswell. Just make sure to check the coloring box.
I hope you don't mind that I downloaded it and did some quick adjustments

Nice adjustments Ranier! I think I've got even further to go than I thought with PS :) The scan was taken from a 35mm neg (HP5) with my nikon coolscan 3 which does seem to pick up every grain.

Going to have to try manipulating a few more when I get home - can see this being fun :roll

I think it's just beautiful and the grainyness Rainer mentioned suits the photo in my opinion.

nice work! :o
