Im trying to avoid bringing in a 3rd party prog. to make a exploding fire effect...ypu know like the ones in the space effects and launching rocket ships, a meteor crashing the atmsphere...any Suggz.?:)

Check the Asteroid tutorial over at The GfxLab (http://www.gfxlab.com). I'm not sure if this what you are looking for, but it may help.

the explode im looking for has more of a
fire(Y) feeling in to it...like shooting stars and stuff...you know.

mh...i think you will hardly find a tut for such a detailed thingy...?!
only "easy" explosion i can think of is palying with clouds...
...ans some smudge if you like...

its like the fire explosion effect you made on that Umbrella thingy you made on the Battle! got me now...
