>> these are my first shots of christian architecture and iconography. i'm normally busy shooting hindu or buddhist subjects inline with my academic interests, but i was surprised to realise that i'd never focused on religion when home in england. but the texture, shape and form to be found here are equally stunning so i hope to enlarge my collection in the near future.

>> for the poets amongst you, you may be interested to know that these shots are from the church where sylvia plath is buried - heptonstall church overlooking the beautiful valley of hebden bridge.

I really love your lighting, the contrast between light and dark. The first, i really like the angle you caught, and really cool fitting that top part of that cathedral. It actually looks alot like this place on the University of Missouri campus, i will pull a pic out of that and post if for you. Amazing similarity.

The second, i love the shadow play in this, great compostition, the mother and her child, the light shinning down on them simply beautiful..thank you for sharing, thank you for you great feedback, will reply on DA also.:)

I really can't say anything in addition to Mike's comments.

Your framing on #1 is perfect!
I love the tonality of them as well.

Thanks!

Excellent shots, Mike said it all. Excellent composition on the first
Did you retouch the tones on the second, or did you capture the exposere like that, if so that is very good shooting and very hard to get those shadows without blowing out the highlights.

:) nice shots. I like especially the second even if the first one has a intresting angle and perspective. You captured almost perfectly the game between highlights and shades and the grainey look fits:)
