A friend was showing off the pictures of her son's wedding recently and the pics were very poorly done by the photo finishing place so I offered to clean them up and burn them to cd. Problem is I got the negatives from her and well....I'm having some major problems getting the orange out of the negatives so I can correct the photo lab's screw up. Can anyone help.

Most scanners don't handle negatives very well.
Make sure you have color negative selected, if the entire scan is orange you might be out of luck, check the makers web site for info or work arounds. If the edges are orange but the center is ok try to seal the light leaking into the edge.
SilverFast's software at $200 a pop doesn't handle negatives well either, you have to buy the upgrade.
Negatives and slides is why I bought a new Epson 2400, it does a great job.

u need a high quality film scanner
usualy scanners that a regualr scanner/film scanner combo are fairly crappy
get a nice dedicated film scanner
usualy products dedicated to one thing doo a good job at that one thing
combo products usualy do an OK job at everything, but not good at anything
