I think it also depends on what music they make :)

I think for Heavy Metal , I would choose the black one..
For Jazz, the green one
Blue for the pop
and red for the rock ;)

maybe go for a different look, rather than the traditional left menu, top bar. Musicians are very different thinkers, into the stuff no one else is into
