You can go "here" (www.fifty7.com/NewFiles/bug.jpg) to see the machine close up.
Nikon 5700 - Original size 1.54 mg - f\stop 5.9 - shutter 1/125th - ISO 100 - 61.5mm - sRGB color space - posted off of this site due to size over 60K......... takes approx. 20 Sec. download on a 28.8 dial-up. Enjoy:)

Nope. I used to some time ago. I don't get too much extra time anymore. No, no tripod. They don't stay still long enough to get a tripod set. I thought it was a good shot because of the detail and that it was shot at 1/125th on the shutter. The original really pops.

Beautiful. My favorite insect.
Great title, did you know this is the only creature that can get airborn from a dead stop without pushing off with it's legs. Hence the title maybe?

Yup, that is the reason for the title, Sam. The military (who else) did extensive studies on how the dragonfly achieves flight for use in the engineering design of helicopters. Just as they studied the suspension of the woodpeckers brain for use in transportation of sensitive materials like nuclear warheads. Nice world, huh?
