Both are nice shots. The greens are nice and intense.

shot 1, I like the composition a lot. Nice use of the shore line to draw the eye into the piece. Only critique is that there is a slight haze on the right side of the photo because of the bright sky. Judges may look at that.

Shot 2, Exposure is nice, but i feel that there's no real subject therefore my eye sticks to the middle of the photo. If you had cropped this into a panorama or zoomed in either on the trees or the river alone, it would be a stronger photo.

Best of luck!

#1- good color but bleeds of to the right. I would have liked to see the dock(?) more off center. (I use the rule of thirds very often when composing a pix.) The bend of the wall draws the viewer into the frame, but then has no where to go.
#2 good composition. I'm drawn into it, The foregraoud appears over exposed. Could it be burned a bit?
What are you going to but with the $200?? Good luck

the skys look really faint and theres a glow around the trees and the sky (digital camera effect). I would go in photoshop and retouch it (levels & colour correction). I like the first picture more because it has a foreground, middleground, and background.
