I have been working on a new design for my website for a while, and before I press on with it, let me know what you think so far. This is nowhere nere complete so bear with it. Also, I have no idea what to put in the black bar (ideas).

Any comments/suggestions will be appriciated.

loooks good
as far as the black box if it was me i would make lil images to represent the buttons up above and make the text mouse over and the images to appear

The only thing I'd change is reducing your link text size a titch. Give it a little breathing room.

layout is pretty sleek.

u can stick the sub headings in the black bar area for each diff page..

OK, I updated it, what do you think now? Please vote in the poll at the bottom of the page. Ok here is the link (http://skotster.port5.com/status.html). I darkened the image, reduced the side nav bar text, added mouseover effects, some comments, and some different backgrounds.
