hey peeps...i know it's been ages and i'm ashamed. what can i say? life got rough and it took me a while to crawl out of my cave.
on a happier note, i'm designing the cover art for my band's CD. can anyone tell me the standard specs, like resolution, print size, and any other obvious things that noobs should know?
thanks a million in advance.

I'd highly recommend you design at 600 DPI or higher for an album cover (I believe 600 DPI is pretty standard) as you'll want the freedom to enlarge it for other purposes if the situation ever calls for it.
I can't tell you offhand the dimensions, just don't forget to add a bleed.

Hey Tsue, I understand completely, I think that's something that most of us have to go through at times. Glad to see you're getting better though. :cheers
As for the CD, are you printing it yourselves or having it repleceated professionally and are you doing the whole jewel case with insert booklet?
I have templates for all of that stuff on an external HD somewhere but we've done nothing but face art for the last couple of years shipped out in clamshells. I'll dig up the templates tomorrow for you when I go into my office.

Better yet, just go to:
http://eyedeaworx.com/packaging-templates.html
all of the packaging templates are there and you can get more (face art etc) from the templates dropdown menu.
