So, as the title suggests, I have an inquiry about the new MacBook Pro.

Not knowing GPUs all that well, will this new offering run PS and the video apps smooth enough to be tangible? Mainly the advanced PS GPU rendering goodness.

Also, bonus, does anyone know if the Trackpad gestures will work with CS4?

I intend (if it works for this) to purchase the 15" MacBook Pro, 4GB ram and swap out the stock HD for a 7200rpm 350GB version purchased on my own.

Thanks,

Matt

my guess is all will be fine, but i am running on last version of mbp. trackpad zooming and panning does work with that, but i don't have gestures in this model. The new GPU that replaces the old defective one that no one wants to talk about is rated better, so that should be no problem at all, as the old GeForce 8600M GT in my MBP seems to work fine in PS and AE, etc. Although I think Adobe only tested the 256mb models and not the 128mbs, according to thier website on the subject. So get that one!

I played with the new trackpad here to check some email in the iStudio, and either it was not setup right or I just don't get it. Why apple keeps reducing hardware to buttoneless, lightless blobs is beyond me. As a kid, Jobs must have been beaten with a stick across the back of a finned 56 chevy or something like that. Anyway, the unibody looks to solve many many mbp defects that result over time due to the warping of the case joints and fixtures. And the new keyboard is nice, although I still like the tacky silver one on the old mbp. I think the keys are a bit bigger (may be an illusion).

Enjoy the new toy!
