:) Today, when I drove back from work, I stopped in a beautiful, little town here and wandered down the streets with my cheap digicam in hand. I stepped in this really nice church and did some experience shots in the dark. I really like how came this virgin out.
It's just a photo, no PS retouching

:) thanks guys, you are so kind. I'm already thinking getting another one, Sam but I would be grateful for any advices, especially for cams like mine.
In fact that can't be really technical advices as there are no settings like shutter speed and so on for this cheap vivitar but just some tricky things that you photographer found out and don't mind to share
thanks;)

Rainer, my digicam is a Kodak DX3900, it has very few adjustable settings but it is 3.1 megapixels so it takes pretty good pictures. I bought it because it sits in a dock that keeps it charged and it downloads with the touch of one button and it fits in my shirt pocket, and the biggest reason is that because it sits in a dock it is the only portable thing I own that I can always find. :lol Because of photoshop I have been able to turn some of the pictures taken with this camera into money makers.
I learned a very long time ago that a camera is just a tool, the person behind it is the artist, some of the best pictures I ever took where with an old range finder camera. If you can see it artistically you can shoot it artistically, and no tip or advise is better than practise. Carry the camera all the time and shoot everything, the learning curve is small and with no film cost it's cheap and fast.

First, Nice shot Rainer! I love photographs of churches and cemetaries and statues and stuff. I love the peeling paint on the face.

Second, the Kodak3900 is a nice camera, great lens and enough for most people. The Nikon series is great, a few more features a little more money. I have the Minolta Dimage314 (now the 414) and I'm extremely happy with the quality (for digital) but for $400 it was a steal!

:) ah, I was waiting for you, Greg. I just changed my cam. got a nice nikon 2500 from the coolpix serie. I think it's great.
I went back to the same church and tried some shots, with and without flash. really were happy with the result:)
@ sam, I also love this cam as it fits perfectly my pockets as your kodak. and the price:o
I bought it in a supermarket here and with rebats payed 280 euros. Today I went to another store, near to were I bought the cam, and the same was 430 euros. must be about 400 bucks
