I remember this from a while back (I recall it having been to the area before they built the viaduct - but never having seen it). I finally got there this summer. I didn't think I was about to drag this thread up from 4 1/2 years ago!
Anyhow, here's my take on this using HDR for the first and HDR with Autostitch in the second:
