If you were to get a Nikon get the D100. However, most photographers will tell you including me will say that Digital SLRs are not where they need to be when comparing it to a 35mm film format. The camera that currently comes close to matching 35mm resolution is the Kodak Professional 14n. Too expensive.

I would tell you to stick w/ what you got for now. It is a very good camera. However, for future digital camering buying purposes don't go with a company that specializes in TV's and audio equipment. Go with Nikon, Canon or Fujifilm and maybe and I hate to say it Olympus.

Again, technology is not there yet, but it is coming close. Look up Foveon X3 technology.

Here is a good site to keep up to date w/ all things digital camera: dpreview (http://www.dpreview.com/)

In addition to Mr Slater's comments..I have been using the FujiFilm FinePixS1 for a year and find that it is every bit comparable to a 35mm format neg or slide as far as reproduction up to and including a 11"X14" print(inkjet). The KODAK 14n is supposed to be the best 35mm SLR size camera on the market...I have had one on backorder for 6 months so if I ever get it I'll report back. The NIKON D100 is a great machine but lacks the file size to do any croppping of the image and maintain res. at any enlargement.

Canon 1DS! A real gem, especially for action. 8fps!
