Anyone know where I can get some help on how to upload my site to the net. Domain space and ftp server and the like

Ask the web host. They should give you the details as different web host uses different platforms and panels for their clients.

I know mine is both FTP and Cpanel/Fantastico based.

Note : Owning a domain name is not = to having webhosting space allocated.

When you registered your domain name did you also purchase a hosting plan? If so, you should be able to find a help or FAQ section on your hosting company's main page. If not, i'm sure you can call them and get free step by step set up instruction.
