check www.good-tutorials.com

to make coloured foto b/w, just desaturate the colour or change to greyscale.

As for teeth whitening, just use dodge at about 50% hardness. Run it over them until they are the desired whiteness.

For Black and white DON'T desaturate (sorry Ray)

Use the channel mixer adjustment layer. Click on the grayscale option and play with the channnel sliders to make a nice adjustment. If you havee CS3 then use Black and White filter

For the teeth, use the sponge tool and set to desaturate, it will remove the yellow without it looking fake

What I always do is use the pen tool to isolate the teeth. Make selection. Copy into new layer. I will increase the brightness of the new teeth-layer to a nicer white, and then change the blending mode to overlay. I then adjust the opacity until I reach the desired whiteness...

Sometimes, if the teeth are really yellow, then I will adjust the colors accordingly... usually add a little cyan, and it evens itself out.

Hope this helps. cheers.
