Apply duplicate image to workpath

Hello!

First of all, I'm from Sweden so please don't complain about my English... I'll try my best to explain the problem:

Ok, some of you must be familiar with how to apply text around a circle using the workpath option right? But, IF i want to do the same with an image, for example a ball, well, how am i doing that? See, I want to multiply (copy) the same image (the ball) around this workpathed circle in perfect symmetry; and then of course get rid of the circle. Get the picture? I want to create my own Tibetan "mandala" using photos and other objects. So, is there any easy way to accomplish this?

It would be great if someone could help me out; this problem has been haunting me for a week now, i just can't figure it out... I'm frustrated in other words...

The way I would do it,

Place the first image at the top of the circle
Duplicate the layer (Ctrl + J)
Select Edit > Transform > Rotate, Drag the registration point to the center of the circle and enter the rotation value in the tool bar (divide 360 degrees by how many images you want around the circle. Press Enter.
Press Ctrl +Shift + Alt + T --- Repeat until the image surrounds the circle.
