get published! contest

wanna get some of your work published in a printed newspaper (ok, so it isn't the NYtimes or anything, it's my school newspaper) we have a circulation of around 2000.
every month we have feature reports on some serious topic, with a graphic to go along. last month, traerene got her picture "the voices" printed, for a feature on teen depression. this issue, we are coveing teen drinking, and recovery.
so using that theme, make a image of any style, and my fellow staff members and i will judge and pick the top two, and put both of them in the paper.
deadline: december 7th.
image size: 800x600 max (save bandwith for colin)
the rest is up to you.

I will see what I can come up with. How many people have shown interest thus far? No one has posted as I can see.

BTW, I will be in Seward, NE for Thanksgiving visiting with family.

Well, take it easy and I hope that you get a lot of submissions.

PS: Will the winner get a copy of the newspaper sent to them for their portfolio?

scorp, so far, you're the only one i've heard from. hopefully everyone is too busy working on their entries to respond (hint, hint). yeah, we will add the two winners to our mailing list. official press day is december 17th.

I am working on my contest entry first, but I figured that I would give yours a shot as well. I too think that the topic is important. I have a great idea and I was going to have my brother take some pictures for me, but the motor in his camera just died, so he has to send it back to Cannon because it is still under warranty. I will see what I can do about getting something to you.

This is the idea I had but I broke my graphire pen and trying to draw with a mouse sucks. I don't think I'll be able to finish it. This was my rough sketch.

i only have one submission so far. i'll wait for awhile, but i think that if i dont have a few more to show the staff, that they'll have me cancel the contest, and find the images elsewhere.

well, i have to pull the plug on the contest. i only have a few days to get the image, and i have to start looking in other places, maybe even make it myself. sorry.
