Hi everyone. As you can see, I have a great logo for www.nerdcouncil.com, however, my forum can't use it because the website is so wide, so what I need is another logo for the forum.

If someone wants to just make the same logo with different dimensions, that's OK, but I would prefer something new.

Anyway, the dimensions that I need are 850 (width) by 120 (height).

Thanks in advance.

Other way around, my current image is too small. On top of that, I don't have Photoshop, otherwise I would make my own logo.

if u want to do a site, if u want a forum, if u label urself as htmlmaster, u ought to really get down, get ur own wares, and do ur own stuffs and not depend on freebies..

i would never do something for someone who only returns here to ask for freebies..

I do have the GIMP, which can open .psd's, the problem is that if I were to just enlarge the image, it would be very distorted and not suitable for a logo.

If you must know:

A: Any designer would know that the GIMP cannot make anything nearly as good as Photoshop. I don't have Photoshop, I have the GIMP. In fact, the GIMP can't even enlarge images, it can only scale them, and it my case, that wouldn't work because the dimensions are out of proportion.

B: I'd LOVE to do it myself and I know that there are plenty of great tutorials out there. The problem is that I can't afford Photoshop.

I understand why you aren't exactly jumping to my aid. I know that it's pretty pathetic for me to just come and ask for your time and talent for nothing in return.

I'll do my best with the GIMP. Thanks anyway.

It doen't matter what software you use. Trying to make the image larger will always result in the loss in quality.

It's trying to add information where none exsits.

You're best bet (other than recreating it at the correct size) is to try scaling it up about 10% at a time until you get to the right size.

There is still going to be a loss of quality, but maybe less.

sorry to say this, but what irks me most is that, you only come back to the forum when u need something free.. is that right?

so why should i do a freebie for u?

you can always do what you need with a trial version of photoshop.. or u can hire someone to do the job, or work hard to earn the money to afford it.. many of us here, work very hard too..

if u can afford to have ur domain name, ur own webspace, if u are working, why cant u try..

this will be my last msg here to u..

the rule of the world : do it yourself

my rule : i will only do it if u are worth it

i did a freebie for subfighterchamp, who promised to return to cafe, to learn.. but he never did.. so he left after his freebie.. and i'm so not gonna kick myself again.. since u have proven that u are only back for freebie..
