Anyone here listen to metal?

I'm open to most types of metal, although my favorite genre is Melodic Death Metal.

I really like bands like In Flames (their earlier stuff, their past three albums haven't been good - at all), Dark Tranquillity, Soilwork, and At the Gates.

I also enjoy Carcass, Ensiferum, some Amon Amarth, some old school Metallica (you just can't go wrong with their older stuff :D), Astriaal, Dissection, Dysrhythmia, Isis, and Nile.

Anyone know any of these bands? Like them? What other metal bands do you guys listen to?

lol, im sorry man but i dont know any of those, but i like metal, my favourite style is power metal!!

my favourite bands are: DragonForce, Rhapsody, Hammerfall, Children of Bodom, Helloween, Stratovarius, Iced Earth, Nightwish, Kamelot, Symphony X, Black Majesty... and so much more! :lol

Guns N' Roses, No Sweat, Def Leppard, Van Halen, Queen, White Snake, Poison, Extreme, Pink Floyd.

I like Screamo and Some Speed Metal, like Behemoth, Mantis, Atreyu, (friends band Forgive the Fallen),The Devil Wears Prada, Hatebreed, God Forbid, Lamb of God, and Bleed the Sky... But I also like what you like, melodic Death metal, and death metal, like Dimmu Borgir or Cradle of Filth, but i also like just metal, like Slipknot, Disturbed, metallica, System of a Down, HIM, and The 69 Eyes, lol but i also like heavy rock like Sammy Hagar... i'm pretty spread out, as long as its a sub-genre of Rock or metal i'll like it... but i'm mostly a screamo kinda guy...:cool:

Metal he! Well i'm from the ol' s'cool. I like Anthrax, Armored Saint, Metallica, Exodus, also Six Feet Under, Samael, In Flames, Grave, Morgoth, Moonspell, Opeth, Unleashed and so much more. I don't like the "new" metal scene.

Also the more bluesrock, rock kind a 60-ties and 70-ties. Big Brother And The Holding Company (for those who don't know Janis Joplin), Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Brothers, Blackfoot, Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band, Deep Purple.

I'm into hardcore, but you can never go wrong with a little Dragonforce now and again. I'm mostly into melodic hardcore/Pop metal, the screaming stuff is dying out fast, although I still like it.

My favorites are: Haste the Day (use to be local, now they're global, haha), Living Sacrifice, Norma Jean (except their last cd, without corey), Inamorato (locals, and if you like power metal, check them out.), The Devil Wears Prada, Still Remains, He is Legend, Fifth Street Heist (locals), No Instance (locals), Self Destructed Dream

....The list goes on.

I like some metal, but I lean more towards Rock, Punk, Rock-a-billy

Social Distortion, Foo Fighters, Rancid, Drop-Kick Murphy's, Reverend Horton Heat, The Cult.

I do like Godsmack, Disturbed, Nickelback (I know I know) Filter, Fuel (are they metal?) Korn and Slipknot

Depends on the song really and the mood I'm in.
Although, you'll never catch me in a mosh pit at one of those shows. :o

Those are progrssive bands, not metal. Well, Nightwish I guess is progressive metal. The others aren't close.

I grew up with a largely metal diet. Specifically, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, and then later some Pantera and Metal Church. Can't say I listen to it very often now, but I still enjoy tracks from "Among The Living" every once in a while. I think that's the only metal album that has really stood the test of time for me.

These days I listen to much more prog, ambient and world music...

(not saying of course that Nightwish aren't a great group, just a little outclassed by KC&PF).

I was listening all kind of metal: Metallica(albums before 90`s).pantera,sepultura...,then carcass,brujeria,emperor,amorphis............

eventuly i stretched my views to some jazz(fusion mostly),electro ambient,all kind of progr stuff,everything that i find good (except pop music:mad:)..., but metal stays and i always feel good hearing it. these days mostly suicidal tend., fnm, primus(not realy metal but rocks),living colour,candiria,spastic ink.........

Metal = good. I like a few of the bands listed in the first post. I like thrash, and some slipknot, mudvayne, children of bodom, slayer, and the list goes on and on. I also love classic rock, some modern hard rock (disturbed, godsmack, etc.), and stuff like dragonforce, and symphony x.

It ain't metal dude! It's fucking post hardcore! And they are super! Saw them live once, damn! What a voice, what a performance! ISIS blows you away!

Well, I'm more a straight edge hardcore kid. :-) Listen to straight edge hardcore music, also a lot of old school (also known as positive harcore) etc. Not the hardcore you know from the jump and harddance etc. But hardcore punk ,the real stuff ^^ The screaming stuff!

And also a lof of metalcore, In Flames also. Post Hardcore, that's somthing i'm a big fan off, like ISIS and Amen-Ra.

Actually, I listen to a lot of Belgian underground music. :-) The hardcore scene, but then also a lot of drum n bass, jungle, breakbeat etc.

I used to listen to a lot of death and grind years back while I was writing for numerous hardcore magazines. The only metal-like bands I still listen to are: Baroness, Rosetta, The Mass, and Mouth of the Architect. I mainly listen to post-rock these days.
