I think the point where filters really start shining is when you start planning them out. Like thinking of layering them beyond the first step. Like chess.

I use a few of the Alien Skin filters.
Gliteratto, Lunar Cell, Solar Cell, and Flood.:o:o

I use the standard PS filters as in blur,spherize...etc..etc...but the 3rd party ones...naaaa...no thanx. I learned not to use the 3rd party ones because their not dependable as the standard ones PS comes with...all it is arer the PS filters doing the job 4 U.

When I first started using Photoshop I wanted every filter out there. I thought they would make it an even better program. But after playing around with things like KPT, Black Box, etc I realized that I can do all the things they do with Photoshops built in filters. I rarely use any filters now.

I use some of the Flaming Pear filters, glitterato, flood, super blade pro, etc., and Alien Skin's eye candy filters mostly for doing buttons and such. The one set I find extremely helpful are the Image Doctor filters from Alien Skin, for touching up scratches etc. they work a lot better for me than PS filters.

I used to use Andromeda for a while
and occasionally use KPT 3.1 for creating backgrounds and splashes.

KPT 6 is really cool, I just never use it.

nope, have kpt 6, but it is not loaded. The more i learn the less i use the 3rd party plugins. You start to figure out which commands/filters, achieve the same effects you are using in 3rd parties...I stilll havent loaded "SPLAT" from the contest, it takes 300 mgs of free space.:o
