Save as .bmp not possible

i've gotta create a .bmp logo from my .tif or .jpg.

oddly enough, the .bmp is not available when i pull down "save as" option, yet the help menu tells me to do it that way.

i'm on a... um... downloaded version of cs2.

btw, i noticed in my visual quickstart guide shows it as an option in mac, but not in windows. interesting that the program contradicts a 3rd party reference guide. hmm.

Well do you have a legit copy? also you could try save for web.

i tried save for web, but it only offers .html and .gif format options.:(

In save for web you use the panel located in the top right of the screen to change the settings.

You have to be in RBG or index mode to save as BMP.
goto image->mode and change it to RBG.
