View Full Version : Crystal Teardrops Photoshop Manip

02-23-2003, 02:27 AM
Looks like photoshop manips are the "in" thing right now so here's my go at it. I think it's missing something, maybe a central part of the picture but I'm not sure what to put there. Any advice?

I agree with you. I worked on it a long time but couldn't thing. I tried a teardrop but couldn't find one.:)

That is not an attractive color either. It was a lot cooler in photoshop.

hmmm, the theme is very good, but nochi is right, needs to have a focal point, other than that i like the direction...

I agree needs something that draws my eye, maybe a red rose with a few fallen petals, still red but faded just a bit so the color still stands out from the pic but it's not overwhelming?............. just brainstorming

First off i will say that Photo Manips are not the 'in" thing fireproof. Digital collage work as i like to call it has been going strong for years. Photo manips to me are taking someone or something in a photo replacing them or objects with something else. I (opinions only) think this is on the lines of collage work due to the fact that you build up your layers and blending them in, like on canvas, you build up your textures and brush strokes. Im also not saying photo manips are wrong, i just tend to call it different due to the fact when i digitally manip someone its because i have to fix or take things or marks off the picture..More and more are getting into it. As for the piece i think you have a nice start, but does need a focal point, something needs to start this piece, maybe a woman in there, or a rose or petals something to convey your message stronger. I like the color choice, and your blending is nice. But i would add some things to make this piece really stand out.

Thanks for the advice guys. Yeah, a rose sounds like a good idea. I'll try it and post the results.

cyber, yeah, I guess I agree with you. I've been reading angels thread and they're calling those photomanips so...

What about a butterfly, that would be pretty cool.:)

I like it how it is. The color is cool. As for a main focus... Can't a whole picture be the main focus? :D

Now that netfirms doesn't like me I guess I'll post it here. http://fireproof.netfirms.com/crystal.htm

The colors really don't look good on the internet.
