Dropping Objects into other objects

My question is I have a drawn out picture of a map I did in Illustrator, But I only want a certain section of this map.

I used the clipping mask and I got the desired effect, unfortunatly when I want to align it it still keeps the same dimensions of the original map.

How can I fix this>?
