View Full Version : Can anyone help me out with the interface tutorial?(I guess no one knows how to do this one)

I am relatively new to photoshop and I wanted to use it for making website graphics. I decided a good place to start would be the Interface tutorial. No matter how many different settings I try, I can't seem to match the example given. I get as far as the ambient blue light and it starts to look completely different. Does anyone know the exact settings that were used or any added steps (to make it look more pleasing) that weren't outlined? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Are you using the curves dialogue? Looks to me like Colin actually included the curve for download if you want it. Curves are coooool. Post where you got to.

I downloaded the curve and also tried to make it myself. Neither looks anything like the example. I'll upload a pic to show you what I mean.
EDIT: Here is the simple template I was testing the tutorial with:
Here is the closest I could get with the lighting effects:
And here is the interface after I load the curve I d/l from the tutorial:
Any ideas what went wrong?

If anyone has had more success with this tutorial, could you share with me some of the adjustments you may have had to make to get it to look more like the tutorial interface?

I have tried this with different shapes and different settings, but I still get something that looks like the image above. Can anyone help me out?
