Well I started learning indesign. I never had much use for it since I did all of my print work in Illustrator. I'm finding the programs are very similar. Does anybody have any Tuts or advise for me?

Adobe.com has many good tutorials for getting started in InDesign, you should have a username and password for access to it for purchasing InDesign.
The programs have a very similar interface but are actually very different in terms of workflow. InDesign is more of a layout program where Illustrator is more of a drawing program.
I use InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop extensivly throughout the day. When compiling something like a magazine, it's very conventient to make your ads in Illustrator and Photoshop then import those into InDesign for placement. After all your graphics are created and brought into InDesign, you can start your text work and use many great features that will let you set up multiple pages quickly.
After you've got everything set up, you can output it through InBook or similar plugins for proper press production as a spread.
Hope this is kind of what you where looking for.
