I'm pianist of my church group.
I also play with a group I formed with my sister and to firends. That's very pleasant.
In fact, playing in a band is the best way to increase the skills.

With an instrument? As in something funny hapenned regarding the instrument? Hmm toughie.

It wasn't funny at the time, but there was one festival show I was playing in the early 90s where the festival managers failed to bring a carpet for the stage. I was in a fairly heavy rock/punkish band at the time and by the end of the first song, my drums had scattered all over the stage. I was still playing them at the end of the first song, but my kick drum had slipped about 2.5' forward so I was having to lean back on my throne to reach it. My floor tom had also started shimmying away so I was almost in a snow-angel position when the song ended.

I must have looked rediculous. :lol

Funny!

I remember one time we were in a huge hall, it was a last minute change of venue with no advertising to let people know that.
When we opened there were 2 people who had set up chairs, so there was this huge hall with people in 2 chairs right in the middle, we didn't do our "big grand opening song" it was more "thanks for coming, we want to do a couple of numbers for you"

Luckily a lot more people came in once we started playing, but I can still see those 2 chairs in the hall, so funny

I put on a concert/party at my house one time way back in the 80's that got raided by the cops (who came in looking for me by name because the first person they grabbed blurted it out). There was a stampede out the back door which tore down a whole section of wooden fence.......picture cartoon cutouts everywhere. My precious baby P-bass was left there all alone, but I was too scared to go back in and get it because the cops were still in there looking for me, so I sent my friend's girlfirend in and she got it for me. She had a lot of brass for a teenager. Anyway, there must have been a quarter mile of beer cans along my street the next morning. I thought it was funny at the time, but would throw a wall-eyed fit if it happened next to me now....

Thanks man, I really appreciate it! Not many "get" our style much lol. We play mostly around Ohio...predominantly Columbus. We're finishing up our 2nd CD now and it's even crazier :lol
Thanks again!

My partner and I have a rock/blues/60's band. My partner JC is a Belgian, we live in Yorkshire UK, there are just three of us in the band, me (Tambourine kazoo and vocals) and JC on lead guitar and our mate John on vocals. We all do lead vocals, and back up each other, and the line-up SOUNDS as if it shouldn't work, but it DOES - we manage to get plenty of gigs, and have never done one yet where we haven't been rebooked.

Whereabouts in Belgium are you Prince?? We lived 40kms South of Brussels in a village called Perwez (or Thorembais-St-Trond as some call it)

i play keys and guitar (and whatever else) in a local band called The Moons (www.myspace.com/themoonsarealive), as well as studio sessions/DAW production work for commercial & private clients. and once, when i was younger, i actually saw a guy throw up through a trombone. i felt bad for the seated sax player in front of him...

I have a Bachelor degree in musicology and music history, and a Master degree in Early Music Performance. I play viola da gamba - no NOT viola - (look it up on Google), and harpsichord. I'm playing a concert in Portland in the beginning of March if anyone would like to come.

I'm am not one of the lucky few who make a living performing, so I work with Director and a little Flash. Recently, I was fortunate enough to combine my music background with Director. I created a program for a CD/CD-Rom that allows you to follow the music as it's being played. I also developed a version for live performance. Now I'm working on a really elaborate version to teach counterpoint. So when that is done, I will recommend that as a way to increase your knowledge of music.

Guitar for a bit, but then kind of lost interest in it.. sadly, it actually was really fun. Maybe one day I will be so bored to pick it up and start learning once again.
