I am looknig for a tutorial that will help me create the Windows XP default wallpaper, not the bliss wallpaper, but the all blue one with the floating window in a sideways effect. I want to do this with our company logo instead.
Also would anyone else think that something else might be of better consideration for a wallpaper? We want to roll out a wallpaper that will be on all the desktops and show our logo. We are a lawfirm so its going to have to be subtle not fancy.
Any way to get that golfball in psd format :D

Question is how do I put text on the golfball so the text keeps the contour of the ball and the dimples?

Make your text and do all the typsetting to it. Then Rasterize it. Then place it somwehere within the confines of the ball, ctrl-click the circle layer and Edit>Distort>Spherize 100%

Use your original map as a displacement map should work fine... (the alpha channel)
