Is there a tune you'd like your favourite band to cover?
List them here.
I'll start.

that's pretty funny Phil.....
maybe my band could cover some stuff. does that count? we do alot already but there are always songs that i love but it's beyond all of us or somebody is being an idiot about and can't get into...
like anything by System of a Down, Korn (we used to but we've gone soft), Disturbed, Slipknot, etc.
i guess deep down i'm all for the hard stuff but the guys are more into the melodic than the rhythmic stuff.

Of course your band counts!
When I played I always wanted to do harder stuff, Sex Pistols, Rancid, Bad Religion. Everyone else wanted the softer, poppier crap.
What would be your favourite cover to do?

I guess BYOB from SOD right now....it changes by the day with the exposure, just too many great stuff to choose from. Questions like this make me super crazy.
Actually off in a totally different direction....you know how during band practice people just kind of break into a little jam with oldies? Well our guitarist kept going on and on about 80's stuff. We got talking about Berlin...anybody remember Metro?

My friends band, Emmaline Muchmore, used to cover them.
Emmaline has a great soulful voice, but can imitate tons of chick singers.
I actually heard a aka-punk band covering Metro a couple of months ago. I liked it a lot. A hard-rock/metal version could be really cool too!

Neither are my favourite artists, but I would LOVE to hear Marilyn Manson cover "Lady" by Kenny Rogers. That would be sick.

That would be sick!
In a cool, twisted, metal devis-worshipping sort of way.

I like to hear bands do stuff that is different from their usual style. I like Korn's version of Word Up and Alien Ant Farm's Smooth Criminal. I like just about anything the Foo Fighters do so the first couple of picks work for me.

Covers are my life! Well at least part of it. :)
They do get old after a while, so what we do is combine tunes. Not the obvious stuff. (Side note: I think if I hear one more band figure out that "What I like about you" and "ROCK in the USA" I might throw up.)
We take stuff from the 80's and medley it (one popular one is Jungle Love - Morris Day & the Time, into Dar Kommisar, into Can't touch this, into Super Freak) I don't think I'd enjoy doing any of these tunes in their entirely on their own, but as a medley the work.
We've even crossed generas and recently have worked in "Livin on a prayer" into the remake of "Venus." The crowd reaction is priceless!
I think after 27 years though, I'm finally getting sick of playing covers !

I'd love to hear H.I.M. cover The Cult's "Peace Dog" off of their album Electric.
My favorite cover right now is Clutch doing Jethro Tull's "Aqualung"...
More Cowbell! :cheers

I was at my friends house the other night, god bless ourtunes, and he had a live show by Jack Johnson in which he actually does a medley cover of Sublime's Bad Fish and Boss DJ and you know what? They were both amazing.
