phpnuke post nuke i dont know it all seems a bit generic to me
does anyone actually make their own sites? or does everyone opt for making these prefab one click sites? be honest what do you use to make it?
you take the time to learn html and when you do you find that you really didnt need to lol it sucks but im glad i did it
oh and to those that take the credits off the bottom of their premade web sites thats not very nice... those people worked hard to make you look good - cheeeeeeeeeaaattttttteeeerrrrrrrrs :P

I used to code my own sites, but now i use Frontpage. I use no pre-made sites, thats cheating!! It takes way to long to code your entire site, but i still code a little bit...

I use several diff. programs...to make my site I used DW and Crimson editor for the PHP stuff. For my tutorials I mainly use QuarkXpress...for my Grafix Lounge I changed things here and there to make my team feel comfortable PHP nuke sux I used a portal and Customized it for my Peoples needs im still adding things here and there for the Grafix lounge but the Main site is DW and raw coding I would say 50% x 50% total for the Urban Grafix site. :D

i use ps7, dreamweaver, and image ready...never used a template...even if u start making shitty layouts, it is better than downloading a template, because you are leraning in the process, and u will eventually make site as good as the ones most download....as long as the creativity is there....which cant be taught

I've never really understood the point of premade stuff. Personally I get a huge kick out of seeing something that I've designed and coded work in the way that it should do ... and you just don't get that same feeling of satisfaction if someone else has done all the work for you.
I learned to code in HTML and used to do all my sites just typing code in to Notepad ... and then I found Dreamweaver :D
Dreamweaver's great because it can take you to the next level, but I'm still glad I learned HTML. I think it's important to know what Dreamweaver is doing and knowing the code that it's generating allows you to fix little bugs that you can't always do in the graphical interface.
That way, you get the best of both worlds!!

Well I use just Photoshop mainly when I'm designing something like an interface. I use Dreamweaver MX for most things especially if they get complicated. If I feel like handcoding a site I use FrontPage or just Notepad.

I started coding in Notepad, then moved upward and onward to Dreamweaver and Flash. I do some PHP (just learning), but I use Editplus for that coding. Makes things a bit easier. HTML does suck in the biggest way. But, there is little other choice for design.

I use Frontpage for webdesign instead of Dream Weaver because of price. However, I DL'd the demo of Dream Weaver and am saving my pennies. Got to get that little filly sold...;)

Well for me it was because I was using Frontpage before I got Dreamweaver and it's just natural to me now. It would really be a lot easier for me to hand-code in Dreamweaver nowadays...

I hear all the really cool guys use GoLive these days :) j/k, but I really like the prog, and it works so well with other Adobe programs. I'm learning dreamweaver now, but I think one of the reasons I like golive better, is that I learned that first.
